Oceaneering expands deepwater expertiseThe 2008 new-build DP-2 MSV Olympic Intervention IV, a 95-meter (312') vessel chartered to Oceaneering International, Inc. worked as anticipated in the Gulf of Mexico during the fourth quarter. The vessel performed inspection, maintenance and repair work following Hurricanes Gustav and Ike and has installed a dozen jumpers and a 27-mile armored electrical cable. Scheduled work for the first quarter of 2009 includes previously announced subsea projects in water depths approaching 10,000fsw.

The vessel's 150-ton heave compensated crane, large free deck space, variable deck load capacity and accommodations for 100 have increased Oceaneering's ability to complete hardware installations including umbilicals, subsea trees, jumpers, flying leads and manifolds. The vessel is also capable of performing a range of well intervention services including riserless wireline, electric line, and plug and abandonment operations using the Subsea Intervention Lubricator System (SILS®).
