Onshore News: Safety Hub Sets Sights on Smaller Firms

Posted on 16.03.2004 - 00:10 EST in ONSHORE NEWS by ginamc

Training business Safety Hub said yesterday that it had developed flexible public courses for the energy sector.

These Aberdeen sessions will mix groups of one or two delegates from several companies.

Pete Tyrrell, one of the four founding directors of the Montrose-based firm, said: "After a very busy start-up year in 2003 running tailored safety courses for several major companies in the global oil and gas industry, from Europe to the Far East, Middle East and Former Soviet Union, we decided to respond to the demands of the local North Sea market.

"We have developed training sessions in behavioural safety, risk assessment and incident investigation especially for small and medium-sized enterprises and other companies who do not want to organise a major in-house training session."

Safety Hub was set up in 2003 by Mr Tyrrell, Martin Slack, David Lake and Tom Keane. It employs eight people and has already trained more than 2,000 people worldwide.
