Shell to buy BG Group in $69.7 billion takeover

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Royal Dutch Shell has agreed to buy British gas producer BG Group for 47 billion pounds ($69.7 billion) in cash and stock, the companies announced Wednesday. The move gives oil giant Shell a greater stake in natural gas markets in the wake of tumbling oil prices.

Shell to Cut More North Sea Jobs

Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L) is planning further job cuts in its UK North Sea oil and gas business in 2015, the company said on Thursday, just a week after a package of tax cuts from the Treasury aimed at encouraging growth in the industry.


Four Killed, Several Injured in Pemex Platform Fire in Gulf of Mexico – Update

Update 2 (1:50 p.m. EDT): Pemex has now confirmed four fatalities from today’s explosion and fire at a Pemex platform in the Bay of Campeche.

Update 1: Pemex has reported that 1 fatality has now been confirmed. The worker killed was a contractor from the company Cotemar, an oil services company based in Mexico. Pemex reported that it has received reports of 16 injured, including two with serious injuries.


Norske Shell Hires IKM Subsea for IMR and ROV Services

 IKM Subsea has been awarded a 5 + 5 year contract by Norske Shell to provide IMR and ROV services

The contract value including options is in the region 150 million NOK and duration term is firm for 5 years + 5 yearly options.

SapuraKencana Profits Rise Despite Q4 Dive

SapuraKencana said net profit fell to RM129.13 million in the fourth quarter ended Jan 31, 2015 (4QFY15) from RM337.23 million. Revenue was, however, higher at RM2.39 billion versus RM1.88 billion.


IKM Subsea wins ROV deal offshore APAC

IKM Subsea Singapore has been tasked to provide ROV services onboard Solstad Offshore’s derrick lay bargeNorce Endeavour for construction support projects offshore Thailand.

Last year, Solstad Offshore confirmed that DLB Norce Endeavour would be used to install multiple new wellhead platforms for Chevron Offshore (Thailand) Ltd., in the Gulf of Thailand during the 2015 offshore installation campaign.
