TS Marine expand choosing SMD Hydrovision Quantum 150shp ROV systems Aberdeen based offshore contractor TS Marine have chosen SMD Hydrovision (SMDH) for supply of two 150shp, 3000m Quantum Construction Class ROV systems and associated equipment.

The Quantum is the flagship ROV in the SMDH Q-Series range which also includes the Quark, Quasar and recently introduced Quasar Compact.

Quantums 005 & 006 will incorporate SMDH designed DVECS distributed control and the latest Curvetech propulsion components. The spreads will be equipped with SMDH Standard Tether Management Systems (TMS) which offer up to 900m of tether capacity and innovations for extended tether life. The vehicles will be configured for deepwater operation and handled using SMDH designed and manufactured A-frame and Winch packages.

TS Marine is the latest in a string of offshore contractors to invest in SMDH ROV technology.  Since introduction of the Q-Series last year, QinetiQ, COOEC, CTC Marine Projects, Hallin Marine and Subsea 7 have all chosen SMDH ROVs.

SMD Hydrovision has been manufacturing high quality underwater remotely operated systems and associated deck handling equipment for over 30 years.  In addition to ROV systems, SMDH is world renowned for seabed intervention systems such as cable and pipeline, ploughs and trenchers designed for sustained operation in the harshest environments.
