Geoconsult performs tie-in work for Technip on the Kristin field

The Kristin field is located 16km southwest of the Åsgard field and the development consist of 4 off template structures connected to the new Kristin A semi by 6 off 10” production lines and 4 of 3,5” service lines/umbilicals. The oil will be transported to the Åsgard C via a 12” pipeline and the gas to the 42” Åsgard export line via an 18” pipeline. Water depth varies between 315-370m.

click to enlargeSV Geofjord equipped with 3 ROV`s and 16 ROV personnel together with Technip and Kværner Oilfield Production performed the tie-in operation during an 80 days campaign from August to November this year. Kværner Oilfield Products delivered the ROV operated Tie-in System (RTS) for tie-in of flexible flowlines and the Big Brother ROV operated Tie-in System (BBRTS) for tie-in of large diameter pipelines. The tie-in systems were interfaced, operated and controlled by our ROV`s and personnel.
The project was deemed as a success and all client expectations were fulfilled.
