ISE completes trials for Fugro Chance ROVAfter completion of harbor trials, Fugro Chance Inc. plans to deploy Hammerhead, a 150 HP 6000 meter depth Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) built by ISE. Putting Hammerhead through its paces, ISE successfully completed rigorous testing, demonstrating the vehicle's exceptional power and performance. Testing was combined with pilot training and full survey gear integration. The ROV is designed for survey, salvage, telephone cable offshore and petroleum work.

Although built on an existing frame, Hammerhead is essentially a new vehicle. Fugro Chance needed a custom designed vehicle as soon as possible and for a competitive cost. They knew that ISE could perform the task on time and within their specifications. Consisting of the largest data and control expansion capabilities ISE has done to date, Hammerhead provides for a sensor and tooling package with flexibility and room for growth. As a demonstration of the expansion capability, an electromagnetic sensor and dual multi-beam sonar system was successfully integrated within one day, successfully surveyed a variety of bottom terrain including a clearly defined sunken ship.

"The technical expertise and commitment to customer satisfaction exhibited by the ISE team facilitated a flexible and well designed system that meets our needs now and in the future", states Pam DuBois, Senior Systems Engineer.

The surface video display system accommodates 12 live and 1 HD camera feeds that can be assigned to any of two 42" and six 18" LCD screens. The multiple switching systems to any camera or video source allow the user quick diagnostics and a flexibility to facilitate extreme conditions when necessary. The data feed has an excess rate capacity to transfer a large volume of data that integrates seamlessly to the customer's own survey database.

Fugro Chance Inc., a member of the Fugro Group of Companies offers a wide range of marine survey services and engineering solutions utilizing the latest technology. As the world's leading supplier of survey services to the energy industry, Fugro Chance Inc. positions more offshore oil drilling rigs, production platforms and pipeline lay-barges than any other survey company.

Based in British Columbia, Canada, International Submarine Engineering Ltd has been involved in the design and development of autonomous and remotely operated underwater vehicles for over 30 years. ISE's experience is represented by the over 210 underwater vehicles built and delivered to clients in 20 countries.
