A Dutch search and rescue helicopter has crashed into the North Sea, but all 17 people aboard have been rescued.

The incident occurred after dark near the port of Den Helder, about 55 miles north of Amsterdam. The Dutch Coast Guard says rescuers in boats and a second helicopter managed to pull everyone out of the wreckage and the water. They were all reported on shore and in good condition, except for one survivor who was suffering mild hypothermia.

A four-person team aboard the crashed rescue helicopter had been evacuating 13 workers from a North Sea oil platform that had suffered a power failure.
