Hello All
Just a quick email to find out if anyone has worked direct for Blue Whale Offshore Engineering China, if so what are they like payments etc etc
Cheers in advance
LobinDecember 30, 2006 at 10:40 am #9767James McLauchlanParticipantNever heard of them but a quick search of the net shows that they are an appointed distributor for SMD Hydrovison in China.
They show on SMD’s website.Bluewhale Offshore Engineering
Website: http://www.rov.com.cn/ (Doesn’t work)
Email Address: boec@163.net (a bit weird as it doesn not tie into the website domain name).13-701 Jiafu Building

PR ChinaCan’t find any more info than that though.
Personally I wouldn’t work with them direct but, if you are considering an offer, I would possibly work for them through a UK based agency. At least you might get paid that way.

hi mad dog, thanks for the info, are you working direct for BWOEC or are you through an agency?
January 8, 2007 at 9:55 am #9771Lloyd ToddParticipantHi Lobin,
I’m direct to BWOEC though my company
Rovsolution.co.uk, and good friends with the
Chinese owner.
I also supply most of the ROV crew and technical personnel.
If you require any more info send me a email to
l.todd@ml1.netCheers Mad-dog

All of their ROVs are broke-dick dogs and they are on the soon to be outs list with CNOOC and COOEC. Several ex-Bluewhale guys formed their own ROV company and really dog these clowns in Shekou…just stop in to the Terrace Club on a weekend and ask for Lloyd for the scoop.
Heard they still owe several folks back pay that is LONG overdue, so beware.
October 2, 2008 at 4:02 am #9773seadoggParticipantgood tips old school,
so this guy llyod? what sort of ROV does he have and do you reckon he needs any guys?
Heard of a chinese engineering co there in shekou as well that have a super scorpio or something. They were interested in having the names of a few expat supvsrs to work direct for them , very sporadic though i would think?Well guess B/Whale goes to the bottom of our lists then. This is the sort of warnings that can save us all a lot of pain. It’s the sort of useful post i scan this site for (as opposed to the endless drivel of newbies and wannabies wanting to know about ROV’s but too lazy to read what’s already posted)
cheers, foretold is forewarned eh?
October 2, 2008 at 5:23 am #9774kangarooParticipantIf you want to work in China out of Shekou, then contact Sonsub Singapore. They have 3 Triton ROV’s working up there with regular swings.
October 2, 2008 at 6:12 am #9775OldschoolParticipantWe have had T-24 & T-25 on the Nan Hai Tao Zhan (Liuhua 11-1 Project) since 1995, with regular rotations. Just de-mobed E-14 from She Kou and several other projects underway there, but not steady or long term like NHTZ. If you have a desire for boring drill support and a taste for She Kou "Chicken Street" 8) , then NHTZ is expected to be around for another 10 years. Contact ROV Ops Mgr Geoff Hopkins in Sing (Sonsub) if you are shopping for China work.
October 2, 2008 at 6:23 am #9776OldschoolParticipantseadogg,
Not good for me to support "competitors" here (just bash them…LOL). Lloyd has inspection class vehicles and used to work for B/W. I’m pretty certain you will find his number and info from Rons ROV Links.

Hey dude,
You back there??
October 5, 2008 at 1:54 am #9778OldschoolParticipantYessssssssssir Mr. Beverage, I certainly am. Went back as Supt. early this year. You know the old proverb about dogs returning to their vomit…LOL
I passed on the "gravey part" of that return though and am NOT on the NHTZ!!! Doing construction work, as always.
October 5, 2008 at 2:04 am #9779Scott BeveridgeParticipantHey,
I hear Chicken St. ain’t what it used to be….
October 5, 2008 at 2:13 am #9780OldschoolParticipantTry the nearby "Sex Shop" mate 8O, plenty of chemicals there to make you feel differently about that!
