    Evening all.

    First post, so hello 😀

I recently completed an HND in Civil Engineering and over the last year or so I’ve been investigating what roles i could apply my skills to offshore.

I’ve been looking at Survey positions within Fugro recently and doing a bit of searching for the company name, i was returned to this forum (after visiting a while ago).

Apologies if this post isn’t ROV related, however, I’ve been struggling to find advice/a forum since the oilcareers.com one chucked it! If i am in the wrong place, please can you point me in the right direction.

I was hoping for some pointers with regards to the following:

    – Do Fugro accept speculative applications from trainees?
    – Would an HND in Civ Eng be sufficient to gain employment?
    – Is there a direct contact i may be able to forward my CV to?
    – Are there other companies in similar lines of work looking for trainees (despite weeks of searching, i can’t see many)

Experience-wise, i have done survey work on building sites using a theodolite and level and over the last year have been trained in using AutoCAD, however, I’m not sure how relevant that would be offshore!

    Again, any help appreciated folks.

    Cheers,
    Ross

I assume you mean Fugro Survey in Aberdeen (this is a global forum and people can be from anywhere!). But there is also Fugro Geotechnical down in Great Yarmouth.

Yes, they do take on trainees, they also do work placement for people doing Uni courses.

Try emailing hr@fugro.co.uk to contacy the ones in Great Yarmouth and Aurelie (pronounced Orly should you phone!) Prieur a.prieur@fugro.com at Fugro Survey in Aberdeen.

Latest jobs being advertised in UK are on http://www.fugro.com/jobs/jobs.asp?s2=224

    Ray,

Sorry, should have mentioned; i’m in Glasgow at the moment but willing to move wherever necessary!

    Cheers for the info 😀
