Subsea Telecom News: Five Oceans Services bags Offshore Grid Interconnectivity contract for Power to

Five Oceans Services has accepted the Letter of Intend for the engineering, transport and installation of 26 medium voltage composite power cables with a total length of 103 km being part of the Offshore Grid Interconnectivity for Power to ESP Project by Naftogaz India Private Ltd as main contractor of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.
The scope of work includes besides the cable installation and platform support works the cable transport, supply of cable crossing materials and J-Tube seals.
Presently the cable transport vessel Maria K is being mobilized to load the first 9 cable segments at the cable manufacturer, Prysmian Cavi e Sistemi Energia. Loading will commence the 20th of March 2009. Said cables will be stored at Five Oceans Services facility at Esnaad in Abu Dhabi. A second cable transport is planned for October 2009.
Actual cable installation works are scheduled to commence in November/December 2009.
Five Oceans Services will utilize the CLV Siem Carrier
The targeted completion date for the installation is scheduled for March 2010.
