Yes they do. Personnel offshore on some of these days get a double day rate.

OI Aberdeen and Dubai pay double day rate for Christmas and New Years day. I cannot comment on Americas region. Oh, and your significant other gets a very nice boquet of flowers.

sorry, this leads us to believe that the period (inclusive) of 20 Dec to 1st of Jan will be paid @ double the day-rate...? somewhat ambiguous.
it in fact only applies, as groundfault already stated, for Christmas Day and the 1st
