With Effect from 08 April 2007. These rules have come about as a result of a minor group of members being abusive to other members or posting derogatory remarks.
By posting in this Forum you accept that you have read the guidelines below, that you understand them, and will abide by them.
In General - Respect others as you want to be respected.
Subjects - Use meaningful subjects in the forum and use titles which are relevant to your post. Do not use subjects like "Help! I´m lost", or "I need help". Give us a clue as to what your post is about.
Topics - Please stay on topic.
If the thread you are reading is drifting off towards another topic you should only reply if your reply is back on topic, or is trying to steer the thread back on topic.
Crossposting - Please post your topic once only.
In other words... asking the same question in two different places at the same time, in the hope of receiving a quicker answer, is not acceptable.
Language - Do not use offensive language.
This is not a ship offshore it a Forum on the internet and as such is open to people of all ages, so we want everyone to feel comfortable. Offensive language constitutes: profanity, racial, ethnic, and gender based insults or any other personal discriminations, and posts meant to offend or hurt any other members or their work.
If you need to say something do it sensibly with facts, not with insults.
If you have an issue with a members language or attitude on this website please alert Admin by PM or via the feedback form.
If the website Admin deem any posts as offensive then the members account in question may be deleted from the site without warning.
In particular, if it is deemed that you have directly insulted another member your account will most probably be deleted.
Spamming and Trolling - We do not tolerate spamming or trolling in any place.
Links - warez and other illegal transactions may NOT be linked in any shape or form. Pornography is not permitted, and adult content oriented links should be clearly marked as such.
Images - Please keep your images on topic and mind the size and dimensions, as not everyone may be on a broadband internet connection. Try and keep image sizes to nothing over 450pixels wide. Anything more than that will s t r e t c h the forum page and mess up formatting for the thread containing the image.
New to the ROV industry?
If you are new to the industry please use the search facility in the Forum and check the FAQ section before asking a question. Often the question you have in mind will have been asked and, more importantly, answered a few times in the last 5 years or so!
So, please do some research. Many experienced members round here are less than pleased to respond when they see a post that pretty much says:
'Please tell me about the industry and get me a job'
Yep! We have had a good few along those lines.
Do not question the judgement of Forum admin when it comes to actions taken over infringement of the above rules.
Don't like the above guidelines?
That's not a problem. They are in force for a reason but, as it's supposed to be a free world, you are free to leave and join another Forum with less restrictions.
