There is occasional work in Thailand. Most of the ROV companies though are based down in Singapore and they crew the jobs in the region out of there.
A lot of lads working in the region, and elsewhere for that matter, base themselves in Thailand.
Why Thailand never shows up on the "Top 10 countries visiting ROV World" is a bit of a mystery considering the amount of lads who live there or R&R there. |

Only agency I've ever heard of in Asia is ROV People who have an office in Vietnam as well as the UK.

Most guys (and gals) work day rate direct.
So the way to go is gather up all the company contact info you can and start making calls direct to the companies.
Singapore is the place to start (as sedco mentioned) but don't even think of hanging around the place too much as it's expensive and your cash will dwindle rapidly.
Close (far cheaper)options are:
By close I mean within a couple of hours flying time.
Malaysia - Penang is your best bet there as is more er... liberal??
Thailand - Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi (Ao Nang), Pattaya.
Indonesia - Batam, Other locations?? (Not too sure - Someone please fill in the gaps... Bali springs to mind but not close at all).
On the pay front it will help if, ultimately, you have a local bank account in Asia somewhere (away from the Tax mans prying eyes in your own country). Not always a requirement but can prove useful.
regards

I need 1 guy (P/T) out here pretty soon - perhaps 2 weeks from now. Send the pdf'd certs. You'll need to get approved by the oil co. 2 yrs. experience BUT "be creative" and don't stop by Amsterdam along the way - there's a zero tolerance in this country. Local medical and H2S course must be taken. |

plenty of work; just rent a bar in Phuket, marry a bar girl and live in a bamboo hut for the rest of your life/until reality kicks in. |
