'The pay is not good' just doesnt say much, does it? Can you talk figures/numbers, whats' not good in £££ or $$$ terms? I'm sure you have been on this forum before give us something to compare with. Not good to you might just be better to me. |

The best advice I can give is stay well clear of Allseas.
Allseas are a Dutch based company with low standards of Safety (one fatality last year), low moral and the support from onshore is shocking.
Sclub7 are very pleased they are losing the contract. The subcontracted crew is treated ok but the way they treat thier own staff is poor.
The whole buisness culture is to do everything on the cheap so you can imagine the salary would be the same. I was approached by Allseas at Christmas to move across and the money offered was lower 40k for a supervisor, no pension or healthcare.
But if you are desperate..... |

Gentlemen
Be careful on what you say about different companies as you could be held accountable. You could be stepping across the legal line. |

I make that US$$ 300.00 short of what I ask for.... son....
What's your gripe John Ferguson? - it's an open forum and as far as I can see nobody's broken the law on this thread.... If someone put out some bogus info, then it's up to you to set them straight with the actual facts. And please, no orifice platitudes. |

There is no gripe...... Regardless of the truth or not the lesser experienced ROV guys need to have more professinalism than that. How rediculous bashing a company that they could be working for in the future on an open forum.
Also, I don't need Baby Ducks dictating to me what my responsabilities are neither. If you guys can't figure it out then you need to move on!!!! |

Far from being "Baby Ducks" (odd term at that), my point was NOT pointing out where your responsibilities lie... It's your right, yes right to prove the young ones wrong (I'm far from being a Baby pal!) and to defend your opinion of (from what I presume ) the company you represent. So, instead of rationalizing, start defending with hard facts... Makes sense now?? |

Certainly!!! All companies have the good side and bad side. I do not work for Allseas but I work with Allseas, yes they have their problems but no to the degree of the original post on this forum. I see that Allseas generally cares for safety and is pro-active at resolving most issues. I work with the Vessel Managers on a daily basis and see that they do in fact care for their people.
Thanks |

I attended a saftey meeting on an Allseas job, deck crew requested if they could have safety boots instead of shoes as they were burning their lower legs when welding, responce from Allseas was "they supplied minimum legal requirement and if the crew wanted boots they would have to buy them for themselves."
Not really the atitude of a company that cares for its work force:
Not to mention galley locked outside of meal times, buying bottled water from the bond as none was supplied, no internet and limited e-mail and don't even ask about the phone.
And finally having onshore management bitch about the gym saying staff should be too tired after shift to use!
One word aviod. |
