Hello All,
Has any one heard about a pay raise for this year? I've heard that this is the time of year traditionally when Subsea announce wherever or not we will get a raise.
Any one had any letters? |

Even if its true, I would think it extremely unlikely it would be as high as that. 5% maybe, if at all. |

Even if it was 20%.... that only equates to Sclub 7's "traditional" annual pay drop over the years of -40 percent and the rest.... Welcome indentured slave.... |

Received a letter through the post this morning with my new rate.
It equates to a 3.7% raise, effective from 01 Jul 10. |

Yes, it's nice of the SS to throw in a Death Knell now and again just to keep the standard of morale and company loyalty at a norm. |

3.7% is still higher than some who have given lower or none. |

The 3.7% raise is what they've given me. I don't think it necessarily means everyone else will be rewarded so generously!
It's 3.7% better than last year's 0% deal. |

Joe,
There were other companies that didn't raise the ante as well last year.... |

So for 3.7% people should be grateful? |

It's 3.7% more than I got. Should I (or anyone else who got no raise at all within whatever company they are with) rather 0 to 3.7%? Would they have rathered 50%? 2000%? of course they would!
It is also an above inflation rise, which is rare these days. (depending on which rate you go by CPI is 3.2%, although RPI is 5%) |

Mind you 3.7% of a low pay to start with makes for an even lower payrise! |
