But the very same companies will expect you to stay loyal to them even though they are no longer of a mind to reward you for such loyalty.

At the moment with no work around having a job is a bonus. Maybe the accounts departments are coming out in sympathy with banks and cutting bonus payments....

Which leads us ALL back to an old favorite biscuit of mine - the Yuni0n!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait til' the business picks up, you people with over-spent / heavy debts, get some money in your accounts, and we all go tools down as an experiment.

Scratch all that above...... I must be mad to think that any more than 4 people would come together as a group to stick up for their rights as ROV employees!!!!!!!! Rolling Eyes Confused Twisted Evil

Sonsub Abz have also made changes to the loyalty bonuses scheme, but they havent got rid of them altogether, although the changes are not good for the ol'faithful guys Crying or Very sad
Re. the Bar Protector its due to be scrapped / sent to singers, its a shame she was a good vessel with a helpful crew! A new build DSV is due to replace her in 2011.

Yep aberdeen branch has reduced their bonus.

Some of the old hands working in w.africa are looking at a 12% reduction.

It was beutifully timed as well - most folk received the letters on xmas eve.

Those that were offshore for xmas got hit twice - reduction in loyalty bonus and removal of the xmas/newyear bonus as well. Although they didn't send any letters out for that one.

I'd imagine there will be a thunder of running feet from sonsub come the summer.

And go where ?
Only a handful of small companies that seem any different and probably just a matter of time till they go down the same route.

SClub7 - out
Oceaneering - out
Sonsub - now out ?

Leaves the majors being
DOF
Fugro
ISS

Comments ?

How many days Scotty.. Pretty sure you only had 300 days left to go ten years back... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Must admit the biz has lost it's shine recently.. The high demand has brought loads of new bods into the game and now there is gonna be a big weeding out.. Unfortunately whereas in the past the companies hung onto us old experienced hands the new plan seems to be keep all the cheap trainees. After all the subs are easier to fly now and the new diagnostics and monitoring systems just about fix the thing for you Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Laughing

I'm expecting to be home for another couple of Months yet. Usually quiet after xmas and the couple of offers I have had have been laughable..

Glad I've been saving for a 'rainy day' for the last 20 yrs.. Feel sorry for the spend it as fast as they earn it crowd...

That was without thinking (as usual) of the other mouths - heh. heh...Just bought (another ) condo in BKK.... My kids are absolutely spoiled rotten (from the Thai side!!!!)

Indeed, there's a lot of knit-one-pearl-two ROV movers (not pilots) these days... and yup, yes sir -ee! The companies have gone the penny-wise-pound-foolish route as we will see many more empty TMS's, extremely battered ROV's come back to the shops. Farqmee! We used to get fired for that shit....

Funny thing about a self-diagnostic system.... do they always work!!!??? Re: the horrific TMS incident with a loss of an ROV supv. life. So.... who is gonna fix these problems - oh wait a minute.... it'll be done online, won't it!!!?

Be well dude! Hope to talk w/ya' soon.[/u][/i]
