We may have a .com name but the basic nature of this site is to offer the ROV Offshore and Onshore community information and news on many aspects of the Industry.

This site is for you if you are involved in the Industry in any way what so ever, whether you are an ROV Manager, ROV Supervisor, ROV Pilot Tech, ROV Sub Engineer, ROV Trainee or ROV Base Staff.

The same applies to ROV related services companies, manufacturers and suppliers.

·  Who runs ROVworld.com?

James McLauchlan ('jamesmc'-in the Forum) is the site owner, and the registered owner of the ROVworld.com domain name.

James has worked offshore worldwide for more than 20 years. He left the Royal Engineers in 1984 and commenced working offshore in early 1985 as an Air Diver (HSE Pt I, CSWIP 3.1u).. later qualifying as a Saturation diver (HSE Pt II and CSWIP 3.2u).
In 1995 he switched to ROV's and currently works as a Freelance ROV Sup/Offshore Proj manager.(IMCA Sup)

Gina McLauchlan ('ginamc'-in the Forum) provides invaluable assistance in assisting as site admin throughout the site.

Gina attended The Roberts Gordons Uni, in Aberdeen, and commenced working offshore in 1998. She has two years experience in Subsea Corrosion Survey and, since 2000, has been working as a Freelance Subsea Inspection Co-ordinator (CSWIP 3.4u & Digital Data Inspection logging systems management) . She has worked in the North Sea, Mexico, South Africa and Asia.

Anyone involved with site administration and content is currently working offshore on a regular basis within the industry, and/or have years of offshore experience behind them.

ROVworld is a pet project of ours and is run in our spare time. We also receive valuable assistance from selected ROV offshore professionals.

ROVworld.com does not sell products directly from this website, however our commercial operation ROVworld Lda does sell Subsea Technology products and operates Micro and Mini ROV's at client request.

The site was first uploaded in February 2001.

It's always under development and the content is gradually building with the passage of time.

For many years ROVworld.com survived on revenue from some banners and also PayPal Donations from generous website users..   Any shortfalls were covered by personal income out of James Mc and Gina Mc's own pockets.

These days (We first started in 2001)  the site is financially self supporting through banner ad revenue.  Any other requirements, computer hardware, software, staff time  etc are supplied by ROVworld Lda - Subsea Technology.  Please visit
