Seatronics makes investment in side scan sonar systems from EdgeTechSeatronics, an Acteon company is excited to announce the addition of a full suite of quality underwater sonar survey equipment recently purchased from EdgeTech. As a world leading supplier of electronic subsea equipment to the Hydrographic, Environmental, Geophysical, Metocean, ROV and Diving industries this recent investment of $434,000 USD with EdgeTech compliments Seatronics' rental pool with the latest in technology.

EdgeTech is the industry leader in the design and manufacture of advanced underwater sonar imaging systems for survey, detection and identification applications.

The recent investment consists of the following:

2 x EdgeTech 4125 Side Scan Sonars
An ultra-high resolution, lightweight side scan perfect for shallow water survey applications and Search & Rescue (SAR) operations. The 4125 utilizes EdgeTech's Full Spectrum CHIRP technology, which provides higher resolution imagery at ranges up to 50% greater than non CHIRP systems operating at the same frequency. The 400/900 kHz set purchased is the perfect tool for shallow water survey applications, providing an ideal combination of range and resolution.

2 x EdgeTech 4200 Side Scan Sonar
A field-proven, versatile, side scan sonar system that can be configured for almost any survey application from shallow to deep water operations. The 4200 utilizes EdgeTech's Full Spectrum® CHIRP technology to provide crisp, high resolution imagery at ranges 50% greater than non-CHIRP systems; thus allowing customers to cover larger areas and save money spent on costly surveys.

2 x EdgeTech 2000-DSS Tow/ROV Side Scan & Sub-bottom profiling system
The 2000 Series combines EdgeTech's highly successful line of side scan sonars and sub-bottom profilers into one fully integrated system. The unique configurations acquired by Seatronics allows the units to easily convert from tow body to ROV mounted sonar solution and operate at depths of 3000 meters.

When asked about the investment with EdgeTech, Managing Director of Seatronics David Currie says: "The decision to order these new EdgeTech sonar systems was in line with our aim to provide the very latest in technology from the world's leading manufacturers. Offering our customers the best service with the most up to date equipment. EdgeTech are by far the leading manufacturer in underwater sonar survey systems used in the offshore survey industry."

"With this substantial investment Seatronics is now even better prepared to help our customers with all of their underwater survey challenges. Our global network of bases and agents in the United Kingdom, Norway, United States, Perth, Singapore and UAE, means Seatronics continue to offer the very best in service and support putting us well ahead of our competitors worldwide."
