Schilling Robotics, LLC, experts in subsea systems, announced today the order for a new 200shp, 4,000-meter rated UHD ROV system from Global Industries for delivery in the third quarter of 2011. The UHD system will be supplied with a 1,500-meter capacity XE TMS, launch and recovery system, and topside controls equipment.
Tyler Schilling, chief executive officer for Schilling Robotics stated: "Global Industries has operated Schilling UHDs successfully for several years now. The UHD's unique power management technology has enabled Global to perform the most demanding heavy-duty subsea construction work in ultra-deep water, and we are very pleased that they have once again selected Schilling to expand their capabilities."
Matt Osborne, director of worldwide operations for Global Industries commented that: "Global continues to invest in developing a world-class fleet of pipelay and installation support vessels to meet market demand." Osborne added: "Our operations require ROV systems that are extremely reliable, and the Schilling UHD has proven to be the most capable, high performance machine available and enable us to complete the most challenging subsea tasks."
