Perth-based company Intervention Engineering has used one of their four V8 Sii ROVs to recover a total of six five-tonne waterbags from within a flooded 2.4m wide water intake tunnel.
The waterbags had been washed 500m down the tunnel during construction, well beyond the reach of divers. Five bags were immediately recovered to land. The last bag was pulled 350m along the tunnel to the sea end using only the ROV.
