Tritech wins Subsea UK awardTritech is delighted to announce its success at the recent Subsea UK Awards, winning the Innovation and Technology Award for its groundbreaking Gemini multibeam imaging sonar.

Gemini is revolutionising the subsea market as it enhances the quality of work for operators and service providers, giving clear, real-time images in the field, allowing underwater tasks to be carried out more efficiently.

The innovation and technology award recognises innovative technology solutions developed for the subsea sector. The judges look for an entry which shows evidence of the technology's innovation excellence and in particular, what problems the technology addresses.

During a customer's offshore abandonment project, Gemini proved its capabilities as a long-ranging, high-resolution imaging sonar. Working in murky, low-visibility tidal waters, the ROV pilot was provided with a clear, real-time view of the underwater scene as Gemini produces sonar images 120 times faster than traditional mechanically scanning sonars.

Simon Beswick, Managing Director of Tritech comments on the success: "To have this recognition for Gemini is an outstanding achievement for Tritech. The team here at Tritech, from engineering to sales are hugely proud of this award for both its recognition of a truly innovative product and as a reward for all their efforts. For our customers and the wider subsea industry, it is further evidence of our proven innovations in subsea technology."

The Subsea UK Awards is an annual event which coincides with the industry-led Subsea exhibition. The prestigious awards ceremony was held last Wednesday 9 February, at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC).
