Technip UK Limited asked Pisys to develop a system to support its vessel operations. The company owns and operates a large fleet of vessels worldwide, often chartering them to projects on long term contracts, booked years in advance.
Each vessel is subject to a variety of different rates depending on the type of work involved and the specific activity being undertaken – keeping an accurate record of all this data is crucial to Technip. The web-deployed system developed by Pisys allows staff to accurately plan vessel utilisation, negotiate contract rates on expected activity and issue invoices once vessels are on hire.
Ian Hindmarsh, business applications manager said: "The tool is heavily used by our commercial department and it had to be easy to use and extremely reliable. Pisys has extensive experience of the offshore industry and produced a great solution for us extremely quickly. We're now extending the system to address some of the more complex rate negotiations which are becoming increasingly common these days, particularly as specialised equipment is regularly requested as part of the charter."
