EIVA has been awarded a contract by PanGeo Subsea for development of display software for its Sub-Bottom Imager (SBI) 3D imaging tool.
The SBI is used for site assessment prior to pipeline laying to identify geo-hazards and debris lying in, or near, the pipeline route. It will be employed to determine the as-laid burial position of the pipeline and to conduct routine depth of burial and out-of-straightness re-surveys. The SBI has applications for imaging buried high voltage direct current (HVDC) cables to provide cable position and depth of burial.
EIVA will develop dedicated displays for SBI data involving, among others, capabilities for live-views including:
• Top-down view
• Head-on view
• Waterfall display
• Along-track display
In addition, the development task involves a geophysicist’s console based on integration of SBI data with EIVA NaviModel software. This will allow provision of interactive support for advanced 3D visualization and exploration, eventing of features of interest and overlay pipe model for expanded pipeline inspection.
All live-views will have features for changing of view settings including: selection of linear or logarithmic intensity; intensity to color scale mapping; text overlays to show INS heading; INS lat/log; ROV altitude above seafloor; INS velocity; bearing to pipe; heading of pipe; and date and time of day.
