Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has acquired ODIM ASA, a Norwegian based technology group that engineers and produces advanced and complete automated handling solutions for the naval, offshore oil & gas and civil nuclear markets.
Specifically in the naval market, the acquisition includes ODIM Spectrum Ltd of Peterborough, Ontario and ODIM Brooke Ocean Ltd of Halifax, Nova Scotia, both of whom are being integrated into the naval marine business of Rolls-Royce.
"Integrating the innovative technology and portfolio of naval undersea sensor handling systems and equipment of ODIM Spectrum Ltd and ODIM Brooke Ocean Ltd into our Naval Marine business will enable us to provide our customers with an even wider range of products and services in this important market segment," said Andy Marsh, President, Naval, Rolls-Royce.
Both companies will be represented at the following upcoming naval / defence industry exhibitions under the Rolls-Royce banner: Sea-Air-Space Navy League in Washington, DC; CANSEC in Ottawa; UDT Europe in Hamburg; Oceans in Sydney, Australia; and, CHC in Quebec City, Canada.
