Subsea 7 announces today that they are letting go of 80 employees in Stavanger due to a lack of orders.
The management in Subsea 7 is now working on mapping the competence needed in the time to come. The axing of positions is due to future low activity and empty order books.
The oil companies are restraining their orders now a days, and we who are lower down the value chain have to adjust, says HR manager Ståle Tønnesen to Norwegian newspaper Aftenbladet.
The dismissals will happen in August, and most of the people that have to go are engineers.
Subsea 7 has 650 employees and 400 of them are based in Stavanger.
