Aberdeen firm Dynamic Positioning Services (DPS) is expanding in the Far East.
It has formed an alliance with Singapore-based Oceanvision.
DPS, which together with its Texan partner, Equipment and Technical Services, is extending its international rental and sales capability to include Oceanvision. The north-east firm, a supplier of personnel and equipment to the global offshore and marine industries, had identified a need to establish a Singapore presence to enhance its current service.
Elaine Grant, managing director of DPS, said: "This alliance will expand and solidify the DPS presence in the Asia-Pacific region. Oceanvision offers DPS excellent oilfield engineering skills and can manage projects on our behalf without compromising our clients' needs."
Ian Johnson, managing director of Oceanvision, said: "This partnership has given Oceanvision a whole new activity. Our original lines of manufacturing, sales and service will be greatly enhanced by the addition of offshore equipment rentals for the Asian region."
Formed in 1989, DPS is involved in the sale, rental and repair of marine electronic equipment. The company was bought out from parent Andrews Hydrographic in February last year by Ms Grant. It employs 14.
