Island Constructor receives 'Ship of the Year 2008 OSJ' award

, an Ulstein SX121 design and built by Ulstein, received the Offshore Support Journal's (OSJ) prestigious 2008 'Ship of the Year' award at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg. OSJ is the most important offshore magazine in the branch for offshore vessels world wide, and has subscribers in 105 countries.
Ulstein Group deputy CEO Tore Ulstein and CEO Gunvor Ulstein with the award given by OSJ editor David Foxwell.
Achieving the "Ship of the Year" 2008 award, states that Ulstein is recognised for the constant focus on developing new solutions and systems. This is also a great inspiration for generating new innovations and future oriented vessels in the years to come, says the Ulstein Group CEO Gunvor Ulstein.

was chosen as OSJ's 'Ship of the Year' 2008 as a result of the vessel's particularly versatile and innovative design. Island Constructor
is a very impressive vessel in many ways, with many innovations and important 'firsts."
Ulstein also won this prestigious award from Offshore Support Journal in 2006. With the anchor handling tug supply vessel Bourbon Orca
, the first vessel delivered with the characteristic Ulstein X-Bow.
