The Hartnell team, which was in the Ranger (new comers) Class, was recognized with the Biggest Bang for the Buck Award for creating an ROV that was least expensive but did well. A team from Monetrey Peninsula College was expected at the event, but had to bow out at the last minute. Competition Coordinator Jill Zande, MTS VP of education and research, announced the awards, and MTS ROV Committee Chair Drew Michel gave a brief outline of what professional ROVs are and what it takes to get involved in the industry.
