Havyard Group has secured order for development and construction of a USD 300 mi

Havysrd Leirvik AS has signed a contract with Havila Ships AS for the delivery of a Havyard 860 Offshore Construction Vessel for delivery spring 2011. Total Contract value is approx. USD 300 mill. Havyard 860 is a new Havyard-design and this order is another step towards Havyard's vision to be the most innovative supplier of shipbuilding technology in the world.

Havyard Leirvik AS, the shipyard within the Havyard Group has with this order full occupation for its employees into 2011. Before the Havyard 860 design, the shipyard shall deliver 10 vessels, thereof another three advanced vessels for work on sub sea installations. This latest order strengthen Havyard Leirvik's position as one of the world's most experienced shipyards building advanced Offshore Support Vessels.

Shipbuilding is challenging, but our reward is delivering state of the art vessels to satisfied customers, says Mr. Tor Leif Mongstad, Managing Director of Havyard Leirvik AS.

Havyard 860 is an advanced Construction Vessel which will carry out work on the seabed in connection with development, operation and maintenance of sub sea installations for oil production offshore. More and more of offshore oil production will take place sub sea, which in turn will require new vessel types for this type of work. Havyard 860 is the biggest Havyard-design so far and will be a powerful workhorse with advanced equipment installed. The ship will have Clean Design Class for satisfying highest environmental requirements and diesel-electric propulsion systems for highest dynamic position class DYNPOS AUTRO / DP3.
To carry out sub sea work the vessel will be equipped with two large offshore cranes, the biggest lifting 250 tonnes and launching systems for remote operated vehicles (ROV) over the ship side. Havyard 860 will have high Comfort Class and facilities as day rooms, internet café, cinema, health club, etc., ensuring high living standards for the 140 people onboard.

With this, Havyard Design AS has developed four different vessel types for working on sub sea oil production installations. In addition they have developed designs for Platform Supply Vessels and Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels. Today, there is close to 40 vessels of Havyard-design under construction at shipyards in Norway, India, Singapore and China.

Havyard 860 has the following main particulars: length 160,00 m, breadth 28,00 m, cargo deck 2 400 m².

In addition to delivering design and construction of the vessel, the Havyard Group will deliver Havyard IAS (integrated alarm and automation system) and Havyard ConceptBridge (integrated bridge solutions).
