Sea4 orders two ROV/light construction vessels designed by SkiptekniskGrimstad based ship owner Sea4 has ordered two ROV/ light construction vessels of Skipsteknisk design ST-254L CD at Freire Shipyard in Vigo, Spain. In all Skipsteknisk have currently 8 designs under construction in Spain.

The new vessels will be delivered in February and August 2010 respectively. They are not committed yet, but the owners are optimistic as the market is good and the delivery times should be attractive.

ST-254L CD has length of 110m and beam of 20m. She is fitted with a 150t offshore crane, 120 men accommodation and 1000m2 deck space. Sea4 has selected Voith Schneider Propellers (VSP) as main propulsion, due to the excellent maneuverability properties.

As for any modern vessel, environmental topics have been emphasized in the design, through installation of SCR catalyst, clean design and optimized hull lines for reduced fuel oil consumption. Through the developing process, the owners focus has also been to provide a safe, comfortable and attractive working platform for the intended services.
