ROV NEWS: Canadian Diver Cert Board creates ROV committee

Posted on 26.04.2004 - 23:39 EDT in ROV NEWS by admin

The Diver Certification Board of Canada has created a committee to design a certification scheme for Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) personnel. The initial meeting of the committee was held on March 18, 2004 at the DCBC offices in Halifax at which time it was decided to include additional representation from the ROV and diving community across Canada.

The DCBC is actively recruiting volunteers to participate in the work of the committee. The committee will meet regularly in Halifax and also in conjunction with meetings of the CSA Technical Committee on diving. CSA meetings are held twice per year. Committee members may attend the meetings in person or by teleconference using telephones or the Internet.

Persons interested in participating in the work of the committee are asked to contact David Parkes, Executive Director, Diver Certification Board of Canada.
