Construction of TSMarine's 2nd vessel starts

TSMarine announced that construction work on hull 846, to be named Loch Sunart
commenced with the first steel being cut at the shipyard in Astrilleros de Hueva shipyard, in Spain.
The vessel is the second of three MT6040 design vessels being delivered to TSMarine over the next 2 years, the first of which, the Loch Torridon
, will be delivered in December, 2008, while Loch Sunart
will follow in mid-2009.
The MT6040 design, by Marin Teknikk, is a DP3 multi purpose subsea operations, ROV and support vessel, The vessels will conform to the high level of environmental class conditions required of vessels of this type in the offshore industry sector.
The vessels are designed to undertake a large number of subsea decommissioning and intervention operations including the handling of seabed and well product residue with the installed environmental treatment systems, well decommissioning and intervention utilizing TSMarine's subsea intervention lubricator and control system and handled using a 100te AHC module handling tower. Each vessel will also be fitted with two work class ROV systems to support all subsea operations.
With the addition of the MT6040s to the TSMarine fleet, the company is able to perform a large number of subsea decommissioning and intervention operations including Top Hole Drilling, Wireline Well Intervention Services, Category 1, 2 and 3 Well Abandonment, Subsea Tree Installation and Recovery Subsea Production System Intervention & Const. Support, Subsea Decommissioning, IRM, ROV Support and Seabed Excavation.
