Cable: The state of the submarine cable industry - KMI monthly review
Posted on Friday, February 01, 2008 @ 12:00:00 GMT by Rons_ROV_Links

CABLE/SUBSEA TELECOMS NEWSAt the start of the year, TSA forecast that about two-dozen submarine cable supply contracts totaling 100,000 route-kilometers would be awarded in 2007. By the end of December, 25 contracts totaling approximately 112,000 route-kilometers were awarded.

One new contract was announced in December - the 4,600-route-kilometer Greenland Connect project, awarded to Alcatel-Lucent Submarine Networks. It was widely reported in December that another contract had been awarded for FLAG Telecom's transpacific cable, also to Alcatel-Lucent.
