British-based Amec has won a 15-month extension to its existing operations and maintenance contract for the Bayu Undan gas field in the Timor Sea from ConocoPhillips.
Working with Australia’s Clough Offshore as part of a joint-venture Amec will continue to service the production infrastructure at the field comprising a production and processing platform, plus compression, utilities and quarters facilities along with the Liberdade FPSO at the field, which is 500 km northwest (312 miles) of Darwin.
Work will continue in readiness for a major field shutdown later this year, supporting ConocoPhillips in planning and execution of the programme.
Together Amec and Clough have been providing facilities maintenance at Bayu Undan since 2004.
