Silvercrest now offer ROV and Submarine replacement motors

Silvercrest is now the European agent for SME submersible electric motors. These motors are an excellent and cost effective replacement motor for all Rovs and manned submarines. Construction in stainless steel or hard anodised aluminium. All voltages and frequencies. Sizes range from 1/4HP to 550HP.

Also available are a range of matched motor controller drives and soft starts (bi-directional and variable speed). Custom designs and problem solving available on request.

EnCana seeks ROV contractor to assist with Cohasset decommissioning

EnCana Corporation of Halifax, Nova Scotia is seeking a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operator to assist with the decommissioning the Cohasset project facilities located in a water depth of 45 metres approximately 250 kilometres southwest of Halifax near Sable Island.


Stolt betters books with debt-stake exchange

The Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group appears to have successfully traded in debt for the equity of 22.7 million shares, Stolt Offshore announced Thursday.


Diver Cert Board creates ROV committee

The Diver Certification Board of Canada has created a committee to design a certification scheme for Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) personnel.  The initial meeting of the committee was held on March 18, 2004 at the DCBC offices in Halifax at which time it was decided to include additional representation from the ROV and diving community across Canada.


SMD Deliver AMP 500 Pipeline plough to CTC

On Sunday morning a multi wheeled Tractor Trailer unit pulled out of SMD's yard carrying one of the biggest ploughs I've ever seen!    The plough ('Plow' if you are American) designated AMD 500 is no doubt lined up for a contract which CTC have yet to divulge.

Submersible Alvin Reaches Another Milestone with Dive #4,000

Alvin, the nation's only deep-diving research submersible capable of carrying humans to great depths to explore the sea floor, reached another milestone in its long career April 12 when the sub made its 4,000th dive.


Springer - A solution to pollution?

A faster, more efficient way of tracking water pollution and carrying out environmental surveys is being developed.
Work has begun to build "Springer", an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) that will be able to operate in shallow water. 
Funded primarily by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), this innovative vehicle will be built at the University of Plymouth by a multidisciplinary team including engineering and artificial intelligence experts. A wide range of industrial and public sector partners are also involved.

The History Channel’s “Deep Sea Detectives – U-Boats in the Gulf” will highlight C & C Technologies on Monday, April 12, 2002 at 9:05pm CT. The special focuses upon the wreckage of the World War II German U-boat, U-166, and will illuminate the technological advances, such as C & C’s AUV, that made it possible to detect and recognize the wreckage.
