Smart Cougar Leaps from Platform to Pipeline

Record Broken

 Inside Australia's Snowy Mountain hydro scheme, leading underwater service provider, Hibbard Inshore, say they have broken the record for the longest tunnel inspection by a tethered vehicle using their newest long-range vehicle, the Saab Seaeye Sabertooth.


Fugro Works Deeper

 To an ever-increasing extent, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), ROV simulation and control technologies and remote engineering services are all playing a key role in the operation, inspection and maintenance of subsea and ocean floor equipment. ROVs equipped with video cameras, sonars, pipe-trackers and navigation and positioning sensors inspect subsea pipelines and other subsea equipment at depths where divers cannot operate. ROVs equipped with manipulators and intervention tools carry out maintenance as deep as 3,000 metres.


Another Tiger To Indonesia

Seascape Surveys of Singapore has acquired their third Saab Seaeye Tiger ROV for operations in Indonesia.


‘The Tiger offers a good combination of size and power for jacket inspections,’ says Seascape’s managing director, Peter Reichlmeier.


St. Louis County Rescue Squad Recovers Drowning Victim from Lake Superior with V

 The St. Louis County Sheriff's Rescue Squad recovered a drowning victim from Lake Superior off Brighton Beach with a VideoRay Pro 4 Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) last Thursday.  Led by VideoRay consultants David Phillips and Tom Crossmon, the search & rescue team used the Pro 4 ROV equipped with a Teledyne BlueView P900 series imaging sonar to search for a 31-year-old man who was reported missing late Wednesday night.
