Offshore Marine Group Launches New Personnel Company

  Offshore Marine Group, owners of Offshore Marine Management (OMM), has announced that due to the growth and success of its personnel department it will soon rename, rebrand and launch the existing department as “Main Source Offshore People LTD” (MSOP).


BP Agrees Sale of Southern Gas Assets to Perenco

BP announced that it has agreed to sell its interests in its southern gas assets (SGA) in the UK North Sea to Perenco UK Ltd for $400 million in cash.
As it continues the active management of its business portfolios around the world, focusing on core activities and future growth, BP expects to divest assets with a total value of $38 billion between 2010 and the end of 2013. Including the agreement to sell SGA, the company has now announced divestments with an expected value totalling approximately $23 


Seatronics expands to Brazil

 Global marine equipment rental and sales specialist, Seatronics, an Acteon company, has continued its three-year expansion plan by opening a new office in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

With established bases in Aberdeen, UK; Abu Dhabi, UAE; Houston and Louisiana, USA; Perth, Australia; and Singapore, this new office in South America reflects the company’s ongoing expansion and increased business from new and existing clients.

CALGARY, ALBERTA -- Suncor Energy Products Inc. (Sunoco) today consented to a fine for non-compliance under the Competition Act as a result of certain isolated business communications involving its Sunoco branded gas stations in the Belleville, Ontario area in 2007.

McAfee report indicates cyber-attacks on global energy, oil and petrochemical companies

Recently, computer security firm, McAfee reported that global oil, energy and petrochemical companies were targets of cyber-attacks over the last two years. The firm has made the disclosure in a report titled "Global Energy Cyberattacks: "Night Dragon". The covert attacks referred to by the security firm as "Night Dragon" were allegedly initiated from China.
