Qatar Petroleum International (QPI) and Total are pleased to announce the signing of a framework of Agreement whereby QPI will participate in Total E&P Congo through its subscription to a 15% share capital increase of this company. This participation reinforces Qatar’s commitment to invest in Africa and illustrates Congo’s willingness to welcome Qatar as a new partner. Furthermore, thanks to its subscription to the capital of Total E&P Congo, QPI will contribute to the company’s significant investment programme in Congo, specifically the Moho North project.
Technip announces the acquisition of Ingenium AS, a highly-experienced offshore engineering and services contractor located in Oslo, Norway. Ingenium AS designs and develops mechanical and electro-hydraulic tools and equipment, for the offshore oil and gas industry, and provides engineering services for marine operations, such as the installation of pipes and cables. Comprising over 20 highly-skilled engineers in the subsea business, the umbilical lay spread on the North Sea Giant, for the Goliat project, in 2012 is one of their recent achievements.
Total announced that it had signed an agreement with Kulob Petroleum, a subsidiary of Tethys Petroleum, to farm into the Bokhtar PSC Area in Tajikistan with a 33.335% interest. Under the agreement, signed jointly with state-owned CNODC (a subsidiary of CNPC) of China, Total and CNODC will each hold a 33.335% interest in the PSC, while Kulob will retain a 33.33% stake. The agreement is subject to the approval of the Tajikistan government.
Calgary - BP was today notified that it was the successful bidder for four deepwater exploration blocks offshore Nova Scotia, Canada.
The Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board (CNSOPB) announced that BP was the successful bidder for blocks five, six, seven and eight in the Call for Bids NS12-1. The blocks together cover an area of almost 14,000 square kilometres and are located approximately 300 kilometres off the Nova Scotia coast, southeast of Halifax, in water depths ranging from 100 to over 3000 metres.
