UK gas producer BG Group has signed a deal worth about £300m with Wood Group PSN and Stork Technical Services for North Sea work.
Uninett, a non-profit company delivering telecom and data network connections to Norwegian universities and research institutions, has announced Global Marine Systems as the contracted provider of a new subsea cable that will service the research community of Ny- Ålesund.
Uninett’s high speed research and education network connects more than 200 Norwegian educational and research institutions and their more than 300,000 users, and links them to international research networks. The Ny-Ålesund research station supports earth and life scientists and is part of an international research community that includes stations owned by Norway, Germany, Japan, Italy, France and the UK. The station is the world’s northern most research community.
Subsea 7 S.A. (Oslo Børs: SUBC) has announced the award of a contract by Tullow Ghana Limited for the TEN Project offshore Ghana in water depths reaching up to 2000 metres. The contract was awarded to a consortium of Subsea 7 and Technip. Subsea 7’s share of the contract is valued at approximately US$500 million.
Total awarded 20% interest in Libra Field - Brazil
Total, as part of a consortium comprised of Petrobras, Shell, CNPC and CNOOC, has been awarded a 35-year production sharing contract to develop the super-giant Libra field with a potential of 8 to 12 billion barrels of recoverable oil resources, and a total gross peak oil production which could reach 1.4 million barrels per day as per the Brazilian regulator, Agência Nacional do Petróleo (ANP).
The Libra field is the largest pre-salt oil discovery to date in the prolific Santos basin, offshore Brazil. The field is located approximately 170 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. It covers an area of 1,550 square kilometers in water depths of around 2,000 meters.
Subsea 7 S.A. (Oslo Børs: SUBC) announced the award of two contracts with a combined value (at the time of contract signature) in excess of US$600 million from Petrobras. The contracts are for operation of the Pipelay Support Vessels (PLSVs) Seven Mar and Seven Condor on a day rate basis for approximately three years, with operations starting toward the end of 2013 for Seven Mar and in the third quarter of 2014 for Seven Condor.
IKM Subsea Singapore has been awarded a double contract by a major EPIC contractor in the region. The ROV system has been working onboard the clients barge since June 2013 on a project in Indonesia. Upon completion of the project the system now has been re-mobilized on a different barge for the same client.
FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) announced that it has received an order from Statoil (NYSE: STO) for subsea equipment for the Gullfaks Rimfaksdalen project. The order has an estimated value of $90 million in revenue.
Technip, in a consortium led by National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), has been awarded by Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) the contract for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work of Umm Lulu Full Field Development project – Package 2 (Process Facilities).
The contract, with an approximate value of US dollars 1.69 billion (Technip share: about 35%), was awarded at the conclusion of a competitive bidding process in which a number of EPC contractors participated.
Technip was awarded by Shell Offshore Inc. (“Shell”) an important engineering, procurement and installation contract for the development of subsea infrastructure for the Stones field. This field is located in the Walker Ridge area in the US Gulf of Mexico, at a water depth of approximately 2,900 meters (9,500 feet). This development will host the deepest floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit in the world and will be Shell’s first FPSO in the Gulf of Mexico(1).
The DOF Subsea Group has secured a number of contract awards in the Asia Pacific region with a total value of approximately USD 45 million.
