Canyon Offshore Wins Glider Burial Contract from Shell

Rons_ROV_Links writes:  Houston (February 4, 2004) - Canyon Offshore Inc., a subsidiary of Cal Dive International has been awarded the Glider Field Flowline Burial Contract by Shell Exploration and Production Company (SEPCo). Glider Field is located in Green Canyon Block 248 in the Gulf of Mexico. The contract work scope includes the trenching and backfill burial of the 6.625-inch (~8 inch OD) Glider flowline to enhance the flow assurance properties of the line. The approximately 32,000-foot line will be buried in 3000 fsw at the Brutus TLP end, and 3,300 fsw at the G4 well location. This makes the Glider project the deepest flowline burial project in the world.


VisualSoft Win 2 Snamprogetti Digital Video Pipeline Inspection Projects

VisualSoft are delighted to announce that the VisualWorks digital video system will be used to acquire digital video for the TMPC and Bluestream pipeline inspection projects during January/February 2004. The 760km TMPC inspection will be performed by Fugro Survey Ltd using the Skandi Inspector and is expected to take 30 days to complete.

The inspection of the 2x24" 300km Bluestream pipelines across the Black Sea in water depths of up 2100m to will be performed by DeepOcean's new survey vessel Edda Fonn and a Stealth ROV: the expected survey duration is also 30 days.

VisualSoft Ltd have completed an upgrade of the VisualWorks system to enable encoding of mpeg-2 video to the Snamprogetti specification. This further enhances the capabilities of the VisualWorks system and provides clients with the option to select from a variety of industry standard video encoding formats.

These contracts further establish VisualWorks as the world's leading digital video system for subsea inspection surveys.

Subsea 7 Awarded Two Long Term Contracts

Global subsea contractor, Subsea 7 has been awarded two long term frame agreements to provide survey, ROV, and positioning services to Allseas in support of their offshore pipelay projects throughout 2004 and 2005 with an option for 2006.


Subsea 7 Awarded Major ALBA Field Development Contract

ginamc writes:  Global underwater contractor Subsea 7 has won a contract worth around £4.97million from ChevronTexaco to install additional subsea facilities on its Alba Extreme South Phase 2 (AXS-2).

The extension to the AXS facilities makes use of the same pipelines and control system installed for phase 1 by Subsea 7 in 2001-02. The development included a bundled pipeline system incorporating a manifold used to provide facilities for six production wells, with the produced fluids exported to the Alba Northern platform, about 130miles north-east of Aberdeen.

Phase 2 will consist of an additional three production wells routed through a new pipework manifold tied back to the Phase 1 manifold and pipes.

Subsea 7 will use support vessels Nordica and Rockwater 1 to undertake installation, tie-ins and system testing.

Oceaneering Awarded Key Umbilical Contract

Oceaneering International, Inc. (NYSE:OII) announced that Oceaneering Multiflex has been awarded a contract with a value in excess of $11 million by Santos Ltd (NASDAQ:STOSY) to provide thermoplastic umbilical for the Exeter and Mutineer fields offshore Western Australia. The development of these fields will be Santos’ first offshore project as an operator.

The order is for six lengths of thermoplastic umbilical, totaling over 34 kilometers or 21 miles, to be delivered in the third quarter of 2004. The development concept for the Exeter and Mutineer fields is to have three lengths of umbilical for each field to be connected to an innovative combination of up to 14 down hole and mudline pumps.


Fugro Awarded Tmpc; Annual Pipeline Inspection Surveys For 2004 And 2006

Fugro has been awarded the contract to provide Pipeline Inspection Survey Services to Trans Mediterranean Pipeline Company Ltd. (TMPC) for Yr2004 and Yr2006. The project consists of inspecting 760km (encompassing five (5) pipelines) between Sicily and Tunisia.
