Stolt Offshore S.A. Awarded North Sea Contracts Totalling $90 million

Stolt Offshore S.A. (NasdaqNM: SOSA; Oslo Stock Exchange: STO), today announced the award of three contracts for its Northern Europe and Canada Region valued together at approximately $90 million.


Global Marine signs Kentish Flats offshore wind farm contract

Global Marine Systems Limited (Global Marine) will be helping to generate energy for thousands of UK homes by installing the subsea power cables in the Thames Estuary, nearly 10km off the Kent coast, for the Kentish Flats offshore wind farm project. The 30 V90-3.0 MW turbines, with a capacity of 90MW, will provide clean electricity into the national grid when the project is completed during the summer of 2005. This latest windfarm moves the UK closer to meeting the Governments target of 15% of all electricity to be generated from renewable sources by 2015. The windfarm has a design life of 20 years and it is projected that each year it will reduce national carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 223,000 tonnes.


Brazilian Oceanographic Award for Subsea 7

Subsea 7’s Integrated Remote Technology (IRT) group today announced a recent award from Petrobras for the provision of oceanographic services along ten pre-determined Brazilian coastal sites.  The award is placed in the region of US$2.5M and began on 1st October 2004 for 550 days with a possible extension of an equal period.


Major Award Offshore Angola for Subsea 7

International underwater contractor, Subsea 7 today announced it has been awarded one of the largest contracts available offshore West Africa by Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited, an affiliate of ChevronTexaco Corporation.  The EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning) work scope, with a value of about US $270 million, is for the development of the Lobito and Tomboco fields, in Block 14 , offshore the Province of Cabinda in Angola and will be undertaken by two separate companies affiliated with Subsea 7.


Subsea 7 Wins BP West of Shetland Contract

subsea contractor, Subsea 7 today announced a contract award from BP for their 2005 subsea requirements West of Shetlands valued in excess of US $20 million.

Subsea 7 is the single contractor responsible for the underwater construction, inspection, repair and maintenance operations for BP’s Schiehallion, Loyal and Foinaven fields which are located 150 km west of the Shetland Islands in water depths ranging from 400 to 500 metres.


Van Oord ACZ choose CURVETECH for upgrade of Rockdump ROV

Dutch dredging and marine contractor Van Oord ACZ have placed a contract with SMD Hydrovision for the midlife upgrade of the Tertnes ROV III - 22 Tonne Rockdump ROV.  The ROV’s primary role is precise delivery of rock via a flexible fall pipe system to a depth of 1000msw.


VideoRay Awarded $451,405 Contract with US Coast Guard

Exton , PA , October 8, 2004 – The US Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC has placed an order for VideoRay micro-ROVs, accessories, and training that totals $451,405.00 USD. In addition to the VideoRay ROVs, the order includes the Desert Star Pilot Tracking system and AquaMap software that is used for inspecting the hulls of ships for evidence of tampering or potential security threats.


Subsea 7 wins ROV contracts in Trinidad and Venezuela

International subsea contractor Subsea 7, today, announced that its Gulf of Mexico Integrated Remote Technologies (IRT) Group has been awarded two contracts for the provision of Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) services onboard the Drilling Rig ‘Sovereign Explorer’. The work, which will be conducted in water depths of up to 750 metres, will be for Statoil Plataforma Deltana AS and the client consortium headed by British Gas Trinidad & Tobago and British Gas International Limited and including partners ChevronTexaco, Petrotrin, Eni and PetroCanada.  

Mobilisation was completed in Las Palmas, Gran Canarias with offshore operations commencing upon arrival in Trinidad in September 2004. The contracts are valued in the region of $2M and run until December 2005.


Subsea 7 IRT Secures Work for ROVSV DSND Surveyor in SE Asia

Subsea 7 Integrated Remote Technologies (IRT) division has been awarded a series of contracts for the ROVSV DSND Surveyor by MODEC and ConocoPhillips for work in the East Timor Zone of Co-operation, South East Asia.


Benthos to Provide Undersea Modems to the U.S. Navy

BENTHOS, INC. announced today that it has received a contract, in excess of five hundred thousand dollars for engineering support and a significant number of telesonar acoustic modems, from SPAWAR Systems Center, San Diego, to support the U.S. Navy's Task Force Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Experiment #4.  These modems will form a "Seaweb" underwater wireless network to provide communication links between underwater nodes.
