Oceaneering introduced its high specification, 225hp Hydra® Millennium Plus ROV system aboard the company's refitted multi-purpose survey and ROV support vessel, Ocean Service during the 2003 summer work season in the Gulf of Mexico. Two additional Millennium Plus ROVs will be delivered in November for work in the North Sea.
The increased power and optimized propulsion of the Millennium Plus system enables a 1-ton lift capacity and the ability to work in high currents. New plug and play features provide quick and easy interfacing with state-of-the-art intelligent tooling and survey devices. The compact footprint design of Oceaneering's original work class Millennium ROVs remains the same in the new Plus system.
