SavanteSavante, global leaders in subsea laser measurement and inspection, are proud to announce the completion of the worlds first underwater laser scan of a subsea wellhead.

 Savante were contacted directly by a major oil and gas operator after a general visual inspection (GVI) campaign detected an area of suspected damage on a wellhead sealing face. Video cameras placed within the well at that time using remotely-operated vehicles (ROVS) were unable to confirm the extent of the damage. Significantly, a well re-entry had been scheduled with a semi-submersible rig already en-route.

DONG Takes Cracked Siri Platform Off Stream

DONG Energy has shut in its Danish Siri field and two associated fields, reports Dow Jones. According to the operator, cracks were identified in part of the Siri production platform.

During routine maintenance, DONG discovered the cracks in a small tank attached to the Siri platform's 50,000 cubic-meter subsea oil storage tank, the report noted.
