Marine/Vessel News: The Deep Orient, A New State-of-the-art Technip Vessel

 Technip officially named its latest new vessel today in Vigo, Spain. The Deep Orient, a newbuild medium construction vessel, will be dedicated to subsea construction and flexible pipelay projects.
During the ceremony held at the Metalships & Docks (MSD) shipyard in Vigo, the ship was named by the vessel’s godmother, Véronique Delormel, wife of Frédéric Delormel, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Subsea at Technip.

Marine/Vessel News: New-Build DPIII Diving Vessel to Join Subsea 7 Fleet

 Subsea 7 has signed a contract to build a new Dive Support Vessel (DSV). The new vessel will be delivered in 2015.
This state-of-the-art vessel will be built by Korean company Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), one of the world’s largest ship building companies.
With accommodation for 110 people, the DSV will incorporate an 18 man saturation system supplied by Drass and rated for 300m with two moon-pool deployed three man diving bells and two 18-man hyperbaric life-boats.

 Two new vessels have joined Subsea 7's offshore construction fleet.
Seven Inagha is a new jackup accommodation and crane barge and the unit has already been deployed to support a development on the Oso field offshore Nigeria.
The Inagha features two 295 tonne cranes, and accommodation for up to 150 personnel and it is designed to provide flexible support for offshore hook-up operations.
