Chinese dredger ship impounded offshore, crew investigated

MANILA, Philippines – Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary Arturo Valdez said a dredger vessel docked near the Aklan River has been barred by the government from leaving Philippine waters until an ongoing investigation is completed.

TestPEP Enters Final Year of Tests for NDE of Plastics Pipes

Plastic pipes have many advantages over pipes made from metals or concrete, such as good chemical resistance, low weight, low cost, and longer predicted service life, and are already used extensively for the transport of gas, water and chemicals. However, their use in more safety critical applications is limited by the fact that there is currently no validated inspection system available to evaluate the joints.

•    Visual3D-Inspector adds inspection workscope planning and progress tracking seamlessly integrated with digital video acquisition controls and anomaly logging;
•    3D Structural Viewer loads electronic drawings and provides two-way linking of components in asset models with the real video and all associated survey and inspection data for better visualisation during analysis and reporting.

Ruptured Weld Cause Of Pipeline Explosion

In November 2007 the residents of a Mississippi mobile home park were unaware that a buried pipeline that passed close to their homes had ruptured and began to leak its contents of liquid propane, forming a deadly gas cloud.

Before all the residents could be evacuated the gas exploded killing 63 year old Maddie Mitchell, and her 20 year old granddaughter, Naquandra.

The LYYN T38 processes the video image captures by VideoRay submersibles to remove the "fog" of murky water and reveal the objects and targets that have previously been difficult or impossible to detect and recognize.
