SAMS-DT6000 Delivered To HHI for GSI Deep Sea Mining

iXBlue Purchased by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), Korea, the first SAMS-DT6000 system will be installed onboard the newly built survey vessel to be released this year and operated by Geological Survey of India (GSI). 

SAMS-DT6000Part of the Synthetic Aperture Mapping Sonar (SAMS) product line, SAMS-DT6000 is the 6000m depth-rated Multi-Purpose High Productivity Deep Tow Synthetic Aperture Mapping Sonar that opens new subsea horizons. 


 By acquiring such system, INDIA is becoming the first country to benefit from a deep-sea platform including not only the new iXBlue Synthetic Aperture Sonar but also the cutting edge fiber-optic based Inertial Navigation System (INS) PHINS6000 together with the ultra-deep, long-range Ultra-Short Baseline (USBL) subsea positioning system POSIDONIA II. 


Thanks to the SAMS-DT6000, GSI is ready to embrace the forthcoming deep sea challenges in particular in the field of marine mineral resources exploration but also for search and recovery operations. iXBlue is proud to be part of this endeavor.
