SMDH awarded contract by COOEC to provide a Quark Ultra Compact 75HP workclass ROV system.
SMD Hydrovision is pleased to announce the sale of a Quark ROV system to Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd (COOEC) of P.R. China.
The Quark is an ultra compact 75hp workclass ROV which is powered and controlled using the SMD Hydrovision Curvetech range of ROV building blocks. The Curvetech range of products has an enviable track record for high performance and reliability and new high efficiency thrusters and intelligent valve packs controlled by a distributed control system has reduced size and weight of the ROV and improved performance. The low drag of the compact ROV and the high power of the Curvetech thrusters will allow COOEC to operate the system in areas of high current.
All parts of the system, including the compact Launch and Recovery System (LARS), are designed and manufactured by SMD Hydrovision.
The Quark is the most compact workclass ROV system available and SMD Hydrovision can also supply the Quasar medium size workclass ROV system and the larger Quantum construction class ROV system.
SMD Hydrovision is the world’s largest independent manufacturer of underwater vehicles and can offer standard or bespoke designs of state-of-the-art workclass ROV systems and plough or jetting/trench cutting machines for burial of subsea cable or pipeline for the Oil and Gas, telecom, military and scientific markets. Surface equipment handling systems and Curvetech intelligent hydraulic assemblies, control system assemblies and robotic tooling systems can also be provided.
Dave Grant, Regional Manager for SMD Hydrovision said: “COOEC are a major offshore design, construction and installation company with an excellent reputation for providing high quality solutions and technology for the offshore oil and gas industry. They have been successfully operating SMD Hydrovision equipment for a number of years and we are proud that this successful co-operation between our companies and quality of our local support in China has resulted in a contract award to supply a Quark ROV system."
