Fugro enters into a definite agreement to transfer certain OmniSTAR assets for land based applications to Trimble
Fugro N.V. has entered into a definite agreement with Trimble to transfer certain assets of the OmniSTAR land-based Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signal corrections to Trimble.
The Fugro network and satellite service broadcast provides space-based GNSS correction signals that can improve the accuracy of a GNSS receiver for precise positioning applications on land and offshore anywhere on the globe.
Fugro and Trimble also entered into a multi-year service agreement which includes Fugro's ongoing operation of its correction network and satellite service broadcast systems that power the OmniSTAR service. Fugro's offshore marine business, trading under the brand names StarFix, SeaStar and MarineStar, is unaffected.
Trimble and OmniSTAR have enjoyed a long standing relationship. The transfer of land-based GNSS signal corrections assets marks the next phase of efforts to bring a broader range of positioning services to the combined customer base, on land and offshore.
