Teledyne RD Instruments integrated ADCP / CTD products selected by Fugro to support metocean measurement studies
Teledyne RD Instruments' (RDI) products have been selected by Fugro GEOS for use on two large metocean (meteorological and oceanographic) measurement studies. The studies will include the collection of current profile, wave and seawater property data at various locations throughout the North and Norwegian Seas. The first project is expected to commence in March 2011.
The Teledyne RDI products selected to support this program include: six 150 kHz Workhorse QuarterMaster Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs) and six 1200 kHz Workhorse ADCPs for current profiling measurement capability, as well as six Citadel CTDES units for Conductivity, Temperature and Depth measurements. The Teledyne RDI ADCP and CTD products have been configured to integrate the collected data into a single channel for ease of acoustic data download and transmission. As a component of this program, Fugro GEOS has also purchased six Telesonar Acoustic Modems from Teledyne Benthos, a fellow Teledyne Marine company, for real-time wireless data transmission from these instruments, Fugro GEOS is a long-standing user of Teledyne RDI ADCP products to support the company’s global oceanographic operations.
Garry Mardell, Operations Director at Fugro GEOS states: "We selected Teledyne RDI products because of our long-term relationship and familiarity with the configuration and reliability of these instruments."
