SBSS completed 500kV subsea power cable post-lay inspection for China Southern Power GridS. B. Submarine Systems Co., Ltd. DP cableship Fu Hai and ROV Sea Lion successfully executed Post-Lay Inspection for 500kV subsea power cable in Qiongzhou Strait in South China for China Southern Power Grid.



SBSS ROV Sea Lion's subsea cable detecting system TSS350 is the most advanced in global submarine cable industry. TSS350 is able to detect cables buried even 10m under the sea bed. This system played a key role in this cable inspection project.

Fu Hai and ROV Sea Lion met strong current of over 3.6 knot during the work, but overcame by the wealthy marine experience of SBSS crew onboard. SBSS carried out different inspections including burial depth inspection, cable exposure, suspension and corrosion inspection, route obstacle inspection etc. The inspection provides reliable data for customer's long-term system maintenance.
